Book Week

Last week Fordell School had their book week. We were all kept very busy with all of the activities that we had to complete.
 On Monday our House Reading Competition started. We had Stu Duvall, a famous author and illustrator come to visit and he told us a story. We also started planning a bookmark and a book cover.
On Tuesday it was characters and costumes day. We had to dress up as a character from a book and present a small item telling everyone what you were. The teachers chose two people they thought had the best costume and delivered the best item from each class. Second place got a block of chocolate and first place got to choose their very own book.
On Wednesday we had the house book quiz. Each house chose two teams to represent their house.
On Thursday everyone brought in books too swap. We also had our big book challenge. Each house wrote and illustrated a big book for the juniors.

All the points that you got for the House Book Quiz, The Big Book Challenge and the House
Reading Competition were added together to find the winner of Book Week. That winner was KOWHAI!
