Harold the Giraffe

This week Fordell School has been privileged enough to visit Harold the Giraffe. We are learning about the Amazing Body, about the four main systems in your body, the circulatory, the digestive, the respiratory and the nervous. We have also been focusing on the liver. We have learnt these very interesting facts about the liver:
The Liver is the largest internal organ, it is the size of a small melon!
The Liver is very hot, it is in charge of warming the blood.
The Liver sorts the food that we eat, it chucks out the stuff we don't need such as salt, fat and sugar
It also stores Vitamins and Minerals.
It breaks down poisons and chemicals that are harmful to our body.
 It has over 500 jobs!
It sits on the right side of your body, just above your body.
It weighs about 1.75 kg's!
We are going to Harold the Giraffe on Wednesday as well. We can't wait!!!
